There is a public pool at Scissett, which is 4 miles away and is on the 435 bus route (a 15 minute walk from the campsite) or Sun Lane in Wakefield, 7 miles away and can be accessed by the 231 bus with a 5 minute walk at the other end.
Stocksmoor Common Nature Reserve
Stocksmoor Common Nature Reserve is right next to the campsite and is great for bird spotting.
Bretton Country Park
This includes the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Bretton Hall and Bretton Lakes Nature Reserve. It's a 40 minute walk from the campsite.
Pugneys Country Park
Pugneys has two lakes, bike hire, outdoor play equipment, a miniature railway and cafe. Unfortunately watersports are currently not available.
Kirklees Light Railway
Kirklees Light Railway is a heritage steam railway, 3.5 miles from the campsire and open at weekends.
Hepworth Gallery
The Hepworth is an award winning art gallery in Wakefield and often has activity days for children.
National Coal Mining Museum
The National Coal Mining Museum is only 2.5 miles from the campsite and is a fun way for children to learn more about the history of the region.
